Firstly, can I say how thrilled we are that there has been such a positive response to our offer to stage this year's winter Warmer at Betty Cottles Inn, Okehampton.

Arrive Friday for a Carvery dinner in the Pub, Saturday dinner to be arranged. The Price per night Dinner Bed & Breakfast - &38.50 per person. Details for the weekend to follow later. We have one vacancy left for a single person otherwise we are fully booked. However you can go on the Reserve list if you wish, just contact us. Due to John's unfortunate accident he will be unable to organise this event. Committee member Brian Caswell and wife Jackie have volunteered to organise it.

As before our accommodation is at the Mulberry House. The cost per night for B&B is £22.50 + Dinner at £11.50, therefore 3 nights Dinner B&B is £102.00

If you would like to join us please phone or send a note with a deposit of £10 The balance will be required by 15th February 2009.

Summer Tour to Portugal;

There is a Vacancy for a single member on the Tour to Portugal this year. If you are interested please contact Tony & Christine on 01491 838489 by the end of January at the latest.

The no on Tour is 37 members. Who will come together on Saturday 30th May at a Hotel in France. We then ride south through France, to eventually cross the Pyrenees into Spain. We continue our ride in a south westerly direction, passing north of Madrid through the lovely Sierra Gadara and Gredos mountains for a two night stop. After a long days ride we arrive in Portugal where we have another two night stop. We continue south west to the Atlantic coast south of Lisbon, where our plan is to have a three night break before setting our sights on the journey home.

Forest of Dean Weekend 29th to 31st May

I have made provisional reservations in two local places. The Miners Arms which some of you may remember. Price for a double or twin room £50 B&B. The second option about 10 minutes walk from the miners is the Lamsquay Hotel, price for a double or twin room £74 B&B. There is also the option of camping nearby at about £13 per night. [I need to confirm this].

Camping B&B Weekend 10th to 12th July

Venue: North Wooton, Somerset

As usual we are in the Campsite at North Wooton, the cost per pitch is £7. I may require a deposit at a later date. For those requiring B&B the Crossways hotel in the Village has Double Rooms at £70 per night B&B or Single Rooms at £50 per night B&B. Nearer the date we will get information on alternative accommodation and menus for our dinners at the Crossways.
